Ball, 8"

Other Materials:
Wet floral foam sphere, 4-1/2"
Fresh gardenias, five
Fresh salal leaves, light and dark green
Green raffia
Small-head floral pins
Floral shears
Floral or other serrated knife
Metal spoon

Instructions
1. Wax serrated knife with candle stub or paraffin; cut foam ball and wet foam sphere in half. Set aside extra pieces for future use.
2. Place half-sphere in center of cut side of foam ball and trace shape. Use knife and spoon to remove foam inside circle to depth of 1".
3. Refer to package to mix flower food with fresh, clean water. Soak foam half-sphere in mixture and drain on towel.
4. Place 8" half-ball cut side down on work surface. Beginning at center top, pin one light green salal leaf to foam. Continue placing leaves in overlapping pattern down and around half-ball, ending in cut-out area, inserting pins as desired for pattern and support. Foam should be completely covered with leaves. Apply second layer of darker leaves over top half of half-ball, if desired.
5. Wrap raffia around top edge of half-ball, gluing to secure. Pin a leaf or two over raffia for visual interest.
6. Glue wet foam in center of bowl; add gardenias. Spray arrangement with anti-transpirant spray.
