Luscious Valentine's Day Cookie Wreath

| MATERIALS NEEDED: |
STYROFOAM* Brand Products:
Hearts**: 7- 5" x 1/2" and 3- 3" x 1/2"
1 Wreath ring, 12" x 1 1/4" x 1/2"
Other Materials:
1 Poster board, 22" x 28"
3 yds. of red twisted paper ribbon
18- " of cloth-covered floral wire
Pre-mixed patching plaster
Acrylic craft paint: red, crimson, pink
Gesso
Dimensional fabric paints: shiny white, shiny red, shiny barn red, shiny pink
Scissors
Pencil
Fine sandpaper
Tack rag
Flat paint brush, 3/4"
Low temperature glue gun and glue sticks |

| INSTRUCTIONS: |
| 1. Reinforce wreath ring: trace wreath ring twice on poster board, cut out rings and glue to each side of ring. Twist ends of floral wire together and tie around wreath for hanger. |
| 2. Cover wreath: untwist paper ribbon; beginning and ending at hanger, wrap ribbon around wreath, overlapping as you go and gluing every few inches. |
3. Using fingers, smooth patching plaster on hearts. Let dry. Sand smooth. Repeat if necessary. Coat hearts with Gesso. Let dry. Sand smooth. Paint hearts:
a. Large hearts: two red, two pink, three crimson
b. Small hearts: one of each color |
| 4. Glue three small hearts to three large hearts. |
| 5. Embellish hearts with dimension paint, drawing on straight, swirly, squiggly and diagonal lines; polka dots; grid patterns; and other designs of your choosing. Refer to photo for additional inspiration. |
| 6. Arrange and glue hearts to wreath ring. |
**If pre-cut hearts are not available, cut your own from a 1/2" foam sheet using a serrated knife or metal cookie cutters. (If using serrated knife, wax the knife blade with and old candle for smoother cuts.)
