Instructions
1. Wax serrated knife with candle stub or paraffin. Measure and cut 12" square from foam sheet. Use marker to draw 8" square in center of 12" square; cut out smaller square, making frame. Cut 1-1/2"-thick slice from one side of foam ball; use pencil to poke hole in center of flat side. In same way, poke hole in wide end of foam egg and tip of foam cone. Cut 2"-thick slice from wide end of foam cone. Discard foam slices, or set aside for future projects.
2. Cut two 2" x 45" and eight 2-1/2" x 12" strips from brown fabric. Center and glue 2-1/2" strips to each front side of frame, gluing fabric overlap to frame edges. Overlap or miter fabric at corners. Repeat for frame back. Glue 2"-wide strips to inside and outside edges of frame, hiding raw fabric edges.
3. Use compass to draw one 4", one 6" and one 14" circle on pale green felt. Draw two 7" circles on black felt. Cut circles from felt; set aside black circles.
4. To cover head, place foam ball rounded side down in center of 14" green felt circle. Bring felt up to flat side; pin at four opposite points; gather excess between pins. Glue and push excess felt into hole in foam; let dry. Remove pins. Glue 4" felt circle to flat back side of head.
5. To cover nose, place foam egg wide end down in center of 6" felt circle. Cover in same way as head.
6. Cut one 3" and one 6" length from 18-gauge wire. With flat side of head to back, glue one end of 6" wire into bottom of head; glue opposite end into one inside corner of frame. Glue one end of 3" wire into wide end of nose; glue opposite end into face. Secure nose with straight pins until glue dries.
7. Glue pom pom wart to nose and eyes to face. Using photo as guide, paint mouth with black fabric paint. If desired, use fingertip to apply blush to cheeks.
8. Gather 1-1/2"-thick bundle of raffia. Wrap center of bundle with floral wire. Separate raffia strands for fullness and glue to head; trim as desired.
9. Cut patterns from felt as indicated. Glue hands together in pairs. Use purple dimensional paint to paint fingernails; let dry. Glue hands to frame as shown.
10. Glue felt hat around foam cone. Fold excess felt to bottom; glue to secure. Glue and push excess felt at tip of hat into hole in cone; let dry.
11. Use compass to draw 6" circle on cardboard for hat brim; cut out. Center and glue cardboard to black felt circle. Cut notches along edge of felt circle; fold under and glue to cardboard. Glue bottom of cardboard circle to remaining black felt circle; trim excess. Glue cone to center of brim; glue hat to head.
12. Tear one 1-1/2" x 18" strip (hat band) and one 4" x 27" strip (bow) from Halloween fabric. Tie hat band around hat. Tie 4" strip into large bow with two 9" tails; glue bow to neck. Glue floral picks to hat band and bow as shown.
13. Use black dimensional paint to write "Witches Brew Served Here!!" Accent frame with dots of purple dimensional paint, if desired. Glue spider to frame.
