STYROFOAMâ„¢ Brand Foam:
White Heart, 8" x 1-1/2"

Other Materials:
Red ceramic container
Wet floral foam block
Fresh or silk flowers: red roses, 12; Italian ruscus, five stems
Metallic red floral wire: crimped bullion, 28-gauge; decorative, 24-gauge; aluminum, 12-gauge
Hot pink, loose sisal fiber
Waterproof floral tape
Green unwired wooden picks, 6", three
Floral shears
Floral knife
Wire cutters
Anti-transpirant spray (if using fresh flowers)

Instructions
Heart
1. Cover foam heart with half-package of hot pink sisal fiber.
2. To bind fiber to foam, wrap heart with half-roll of 12-gauge wire, criss-crossing foam surface repeatedly.
3. Repeat Step 2 using half-roll of crimped wire and then half-roll of 24-gauge wire.
4. Spread glue on pick ends and insert into base of heart; set aside.
Arrangement
1. Cut floral foam to fit container. Soak foam in water and drain on towel. Place foam into container.
2. To secure foam, tape across top of container and foam on all four sides of block in a grid pattern, leaving center of foam exposed.
3. Encircle foam at top of container with loose circles of 12-gauge wire for decorative effect.
4. Insert an asymmetrical outline of nine roses into foam to create height of arrangement; tip of tallest rose should be one-and-a-half times height of container.
5. Place heart in center of arrangement, inserting picks into floral foam. Insert three shorter roses into foam at base of heart to create focal area.
6. Insert greenery stems into design to cover foam and fill gaps.
7. Mist fresh flowers and greenery with anti-transpirant.
