Materials Needed Starlight Snowball Centerpiece

STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam:
Balls, 3", four
Star, 12" x 1"
White Snow, one package

Other Materials:
Glass containers: round, 4" x 4" (to sit atop vase); vase, 4" x 10"
Wet floral foam block
Fresh or silk flowers (number of stems): white hydrangea (1); white Oriental lilies (2); white spray roses (1); fresh cedar or other greenery (3)
Silver floral wire: crimped bullion, 28-gauge; decorative, 24-gauge; ultra-fine angel hair
Waterproof floral tape
Wooden skewers or picks, four
Floral shears
Floral knife
Scissors
Wire cutters
Thick, white craft glue
White/iridescent glitter
Anti-transpirant spray (if using fresh flowers)

Instructions
Star
1. Cover foam star with half-package of silver angel hair.
2. To bind angel hair to foam, wrap star with half-roll of 24-gauge wire, lacing around points, across center and back and forth between points.
3. Repeat Step 2 using half-roll of crimped wire.
Snowballs
1. Insert skewer into each foam ball. Holding skewer, apply generous layer white glue to ball and roll in glitter.
2. White still wet, roll balls in foam snow. Place skewers in heavy glass or jar to dry. Remove skewers.
3. Use glue gun to glue cylinder vase to center top of star. Place small amount foam snow into bottom of vase and fill with snowballs.
Arrangement
1. Cut floral foam to fit container. Soak foam in water and drain on towel. Place foam into container.
2. To secure foam, tape across top of container and foam on all four sides of block in a grid pattern, leaving center of foam exposed.
3. Insert hydrangea stem into foam to cover base of design. Insert lilies at center to create depth. Insert rose stem. Insert greenery into design to cover foam and fill gaps.
4. Mist fresh flowers and greenery with anti-transpirant.
5. Place round vase atop cylinder.
