INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut foam ball in half using serrated knife (hint: for smoother cuts, wax the knife blade with an old candle). Cut hat in half. Glue half ball into half hat. Glue pom pom nose, whiskers and wiggle eyes in place.
2. Cut eggs in half. Put two halves aside for hands. Paint wide end of one half-egg yellow, leaving narrow end of egg unpainted. Paint remaining half eggs blue and pink. Dip bristles of 7" paint brush into yellow paint. Let dry.
3. Cut the following from the foam sheet:
a. Four 4" x 1 1/4" pieces (arms)
b. Four 4" x 1 1/2" pieces (legs)
c. Two feet (using Pattern A)
d. 8 1/2" x 6" piece (body). Round both corners on one 6" side, forming shoulders. |
4. For the apron, cut the following from the denim:
a. Pattern B
b. Two 1/2" x 4" lengths (straps)
c. 6" x 2" piece (lower pocket)
d. 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" square (upper pocket) |
5. Glue pockets to apron, leaving top edges open. Glue on straps and buttons. Glue apron onto body; glue ends of straps to back of bunny.
6. Assemble bunny. Cut (14) 2" lengths of chenille stems. Glue head to body on an angle, using glue and inserting two chenille stems between pieces. Glue together legs, feet, arms and hands, using chenille stems between the pieces so pieces dangle. It's easiest to insert chenille stems if you use a wooden skewer to make the hole first; fill hole with glue and then insert chenille stem. Attach legs and arms to body using glue and chenille stems.
7. Glue carrot in upper pocket and pink half-egg in lower pocket. Glue partially painted yellow half-egg to left front of apron; glue left hand over egg. Glue 7" paintbrush across apron; glue right hand over brush.
8. Cut 10" fabric square in half diagonally; tie around neck and spot glue in place.
9. Using Pattern C, cut two ears from plush felt. Glue to hat. Glue blue half-egg to hat brim under one ear.
10. Smear paint on apron.
11.Twist ends of a 5" length of chenille; insert and glue to back of head for hanger.
