INSTRUCTIONS:
Building Turkey Form - Refer to diagrams for cutting guide
9. Pin or tape tail feather patterns to foam sheet. Wax knife with old candle for easier, smoother cutting. Cut front and back tail feather sections from foam sheet.
10. Cut slice from bottom of 6" ball so it will stand. Slice 3/4" from back of ball; this is where tail will attach. Cut thin slice from each side for wings; angle cuts toward the front (refer to Top View diagram).
11. Cut 1-1/2" piece from bottom and side of cone so that cone fits snugly against the ball. Twist cut edge against front of ball until pieces fit tightly.
12. Roll narrow end of egg against tabletop, creating point for beak.
13. Cut a hole 1" wide and deep in bottom of wide end of egg. Twist egg onto cone until two pieces fit snugly.
14. Glue pieces together:

a. Glue front tail section to back tail section
b. Glue front tail section to back of ball
c. Glue cone onto front of ball
d. Glue egg onto cone
15. Decoupage the turkey with tissue paper. One sheet covers the back of the tail section, 1-1/4" strips cover curved edges, and torn rectangles, 3" x 4" and 2" x 2", cover remaining turkey.
16. Generously spread thin white craft glue over portion of turkey. Lay tissue paper on glue and gently smooth paper to remove air bubbles. Spread glue over top of paper. Continue, working on one section at a time, until entire turkey is covered.
17. Roll a strip of brown grocery bag into small cone for beak. Glue in place.
18. Glue on two black beads for eyes.
19. Let dry thoroughly.

Embellishing with Florals:
20. Arrange dried flowers in the top edges of the tail feather sections; place tallest elements towards the center back section and the shorter flowers in front section and at the sides. Dips ends of stems into white craft glue first before inserting into foam form. HINT: If stems are delicate, use skewer to make a hole through tissue paper before inserting stems.
21. Using low melt glue, attach mushrooms to sides of body for wings; position mushrooms so they flare out towards the back.
22. Glue ferns flat against the front of the front tail section. Fill in area directly in front of the tail and up to the ferns.
23. "Build" up body area in front of wings with bunches of flowers and ferns. Decorate chest area with ferns and flowers.
24. Glue red flowers on top of head. Glue long dried element over the beak for turkey comb.
