Halloween Surprise

Up pops the black cat from the Jack-O-Lantern flowerpot. Surprise, it's Halloween! This cat will make a cute holiday home décor accent while it scents and refreshes your home. There's a RenuzitŪ Adjustable Air Freshener under it!
| MATERIALS NEEDED: |
STYROFOAM* Brand Products:
1- 2" and 1- 4" Balls
1-1/2" Thick Piece, 1-1/2" x 3"
Other Materials:
1 The Dial Corp. RenuzitŪ Adjustable Air Freshener
1- 4" Clay Pot, 3 1/2" High
Acrylic Paint: Black, Orange
Felt: 1- 9" x 12" Black; 1- 1" x 3" White; 1- 1" Square Red
1- 20mm Wiggle Eyes, pair
Poms:2- 1" Black; 1- 1/2" Pink
7- 1/2 - " of 5/8" Wide Orange Ribbon
Natural Raffia
Miscellaneous Items:
Low-temp glue gun & glue sticks, metal spoon, serrated knife, paper, pencil, ruler, compass, scissors and paint brush. |

| INSTRUCTIONS: |
| 1. JACK-O-LANTERN: Paint flowerpot Orange. Let dry. Cut mouth, nose, two eyeballs, and two eyebrows from black felt, and two eyes and two teeth from white felt according to patterns. Refer to drawing to glue in place. |
| 2. HEAD: Place RenuzitŪ Air Freshener in clay pot. Using metal spoon, carve out inside of 4" ball of STYROFOAM to fit over air freshener. |
| 3. PAWS: For each paw: Cut small ball of STYROFOAM* in half with serrated knife. Using back of metal spoon, smooth cut edges. Form toes by making two indentations in STYROFOAM and rounding with edge of spoon. |
| 4. EARS: Use serrated knife to cut two ears from 1/2" STYROFOAM* according to pattern. Paint head, paws and ears Black. Let dry. Set aside. |
| 5. HAT: Cut 4" square from black felt and round off one corner. Roll felt into cone slightly overlapping edges and glue. For brim, cut 5" circle from black felt. Cut out 1 3/4" circle from middle of 5" circle. Position brim down over cone and glue together from underneath. Glue orange ribbon around crown of hat. |
| 6. ASSEMBLING: Place RenuzitŪ Air Freshener into pot and put head on top. Glue hat to top of head and ears to brim of hat. Glue raffia inside top edge of pot, leaving spaces for paws. Position and glue paws to top edge of pot. From remaining black felt, trace bottom of pot onto felt, cut out, trim as needed and glue to pot. |
| 7. FEATURES: For jowls, glue two black poms to front of face, just above flowerpot. Cut tongue from red felt according to pattern. Glue the top square corners together, forming a rolled tongue. Glue tongue between jowls. Glue pink pom above jowls for nose. Glue wiggle eyes just above jowls. |
| 8. GEL REPLACEMENT: When the original gel is depleted, simply replace with a new air freshener. For future projects: if your project base is decorated, remove dried gel. From a new container, remove new, non-toxic gel, then slip it over the post of the decorated base and reposition the decorated topper. |
