| INSTRUCTIONS: |
For Mother Rabbit
1. Slip 2 1/2" ball into toe of sock for head followed by 4" ball for body. Cut off excess sock fabric and save. |
| 2. Sew running stitch around cut edge of sock; pull thread tightly to enclose balls of STYROFOAM. Tie a doubled thread around the area between the head and body to define neck. |
| 3. Trace leg (pattern A), arm (pattern B) and ear (pattern C) on heavy paper; cut out. Turn excess sock material inside out. Transfer patterns to doubled sock fabric; cut out two legs and arms. Cut two ears from one layer of sock fabric. |
| 4. Sew around the legs, leaving body end open; cut off excess fabric and turn right side out. Slide a 1 1/2" ball into each leg for feet; fold in open ends and sew shut. |
| 5. Repeat the above process for arms but use 1" balls for hands. Glue arms and legs to body; sew to secure. |
| 6. Cut a 2 1/2" circle from sock fabric for tail. With doubled thread, sew a running stitch around circle's edge. Place 1" ball in center; pull threads to close opening; tie to secure. Glue to body; sew to secure. |
| 7. Cut two ears from gingham fabric; place right side in on sock ears. Sew together leaving opening at small end; trim excess fabric and turn right side out. Glue on head; sew to secure. |
| 8. Tie bows of 1/8" ribbon around wrists and 1/4" ribbon around ankles. Paint face as shown in photo. Glue paint brush strands to sock face as whiskers. Glue eyelet lace around bunny's neck. |
| 9. From gingham fabric, cut 7" x 30" piece for apron skirt, 2 1/2" x 7" piece for bib and 2" x 15" piece for belt. |
| 10. Double skirt right side in to measure 3 1/2" x 30". Sew sides and turn right side out; press. Gather open edge with running stitch, making sure it fits around largest part of bunny. |
| 11. Double belt to measure 1" x 15"; sew to skirt. Double bib fabric to measure 3 1/2" x 2 1/2". Trace Pattern D onto fabric; sew around curved part of bib, leaving flat bottom open. Trim excess fabric; turn right side out and press. |
| 12. Sew eyelet lace around curved part of bib and bottom of skirt; sew buttons to top of bib as pictured. Sew bib to belt at center and front of apron; place on rabbit and glue or sew in place. |
INSTRUCTIONS : For Three Bunnies
1. Slip a 1 1/2" ball into toe of sock for head followed by 2" ball for body. Cut excess fabric and sew a running stitch at cut edge of sock. Draw thread tightly to enclose balls and close opening; tie to secure. |
| 2. Tie doubled thread around area between head and body to define neck. |
| 3. Turn other sock and excess sock fabric inside out; set aside. |
| 4. Trace foot (pattern E), arm (pattern F) and ear (pattern G) on heavy paper; cut out and trace two feet and arms on doubled sock fabric turned inside out. Cut two ears from one layer of sock. |
| 5. Sew around arm pieces, leaving shoulder end open; turn right side out and stuff with polyfil. Turn cut edges under; sew shut. Define wrist with tied doubled thread as shown in photograph. |
| 6. Sew around foot pieces, leaving heel end open. Turn right side out and stuff with polyfil; turn cut edges under and sew shut. Glue arms and feet onto body as pictured. |
| 7. Place ear fabric on white fabric right side in; sew around ear, leaving opening at end that attaches to head. Trim excess fabric; turn right side out. Turn under cut edge, sew shut and tie. Repeat with second ear. Glue ears to head. |
| 8. Cut 1 1/2" circle from sock fabric. Sew running stitch around circle; place polyfil in center and draw thread tightly to enclose. Glue to body. |
| 9. Paint facial features as pictured and glue on whiskers. Tie bows around bunnies' necks. |
